Carteret County voters overwhelmingly supported the school bond referendum at the polls. The November 3, 2020, bond referendum authorizes the issuance of bonds over several years to pay the capital costs for school system work. This work includes improving, renovating, replacing and equipping school facilities, including school buildings, safety and security measures, maintenance/transportation facilities, athletic and physical education buildings and facilities, and acquiring land for future school needs.
