Carteret County families are invited to attend the next NC Pre-K enrollment event on Wednesday, May 28, at the Carteret Preschool Center, located at 903 Church Street in Newport. The roundup will take place from 2:50 to 4:50 p.m.
Children who will be 4 years old on or before August 31, 2025, may qualify for free NC Pre-K for the 2025–2026 school year.
The NC Pre-K program is offered at nine locations across Carteret County. Each registration appointment includes a 10-minute family interview and a student screening.
Families should bring:
Proof of income
Child’s birth certificate
Custody documentation, if applicable
