WHAT IS CREDIT BY DEMONSTRATED MASTERY (CDM)
This is an option which allows students to demonstrate mastery of a course's content, getting credit and a pass grade for the course by taking an assessment and completing an artifact without course enrollment. According to NCDPI, "CDM was designed to respond to the needs of students, families, AIG community, school personnel and leadership. CDM specifically offers North Carolina students the opportunity to personalize and accelerate their learning, thus allowing for optimal student growth while providing an opportunity to have effective seat time to learn new content." Failed attempts at CDM are not reflected on a student's transcript.
