School Lunches FREE for Majority of

CCPS Schools

 

Free meals for most schools

Carteret County Public Schools  is excited to announce the implementation of a new initiative, in line with the most recent Federal Guidelines for School Nutrition and the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), aimed at easing the financial burden on families and ensuring that more students have access to nutritious meals. This initiative will provide free breakfast and lunch to students at several schools across the district for the 2024-2025 school year.

All students at the following schools are now eligible for free meals under the CEP program:
● Atlantic Elementary School
● Beaufort Elementary School
● Beaufort Middle School
● Bogue Sound Elementary School
● Bridges School
● Down East Middle School and Smyrna Elementary School
● East Carteret High School
● Harkers Island Elementary School
● Morehead City Elementary School
● Morehead City Middle School
● Morehead City Primary School
● Newport Elementary School
● Newport Middle School
● West Carteret High School

Carteret Preschool Center is already automatically eligible for free meals under federal guidelines.

Families with children attending the remaining schools—White Oak Elementary School, Broad Creek Middle School, and Croatan High School—can still apply for free and reduced-price meals through an application available onour website or by requesting one directly from their child’s school. About Us

Parent Portal for Information

Parents/guardians, there are just a few security steps to verify parental status and get access:

1.  Complete the Parental Request Form for Access and send in with your child or deliver to your school office. (Only one is need for all of your children.) 

2.  Stop by the school and show your state-issued picture ID.  (You must be a parent or legal guardian to receive access.)

3.  Your school will issue you a sheet similar to the one linked HERE.

4.  Go to a computer with internet access and complete the instructions on the sheet.
