The Annual Jazz Band Dinner is March 25, 2010 at 6 pm.
Thanks to Outback for donating the meal.  See any Jazz band student to purchase your tickets to this wonderful event.   Tickets are $20 each or 2 for $35.
Dinner will be at St. James United Methodist Church Community Life Center.

Please make plans to join us the 2nd Tues of each month @  7:00 p.m. in the band room.  
Board members will meet 1st Tues of each month.

2009/2010 Band Trip to Virginia  - AAAA Champs!

The WCHS Band earned top honors, 1st place class AAAA, at James Madison University's Parade Of Champions band competition Oct 24, 2009.

The Marching Patriots are the Grand Champions and the People's Choice of the 2009 Crystal Coast Band Classic hosted by Havelock HS!  Congratulations on such a successful marching season!  Special thanks go out to our Pit Crew and all who volunteered this year!  Band Parents,  thanks for best cheering section ever!

The Marching Patriots performed another winning performance Sat. night Oct. 17th at Greenville Rose High School.  They took home first place trophies for Musical Performance, Color Guard, Percussion, Marching and first place overall in class AAAA. Way to go WCHS Band!  We are very proud of you!

The Panther Creek Invitational was Sept. 26th in Cary.  Congratulations to the Marching Patriots.  They were awarded first place for Musical Performance, second place for Color Guard, second place for General Effect and second place overall in the AAAA division.  A BIG thank you goes out to our award winning Pit Crew.  They took the trophy for Best Pit Crew!  You guys are awesome!

Help the Band

Thank you too all Seafood Festival Ticket Booth volunteers!  Each year the WCHS Band Boosters volunteer to sell carnival ride tickets during the festival in exchange for a nice donation to the band program.  A big thanks goes to Ann Walker for organizing this large team of volunteers.

Donations are welcome.  
Have an old working deep freezer taking up space in your garage?  Are you willing  to donate it? The band could really use one in the band barn!

*** Band Parents - We hope you can find time to donate a few hours to volunteer this year.  There are opportunities to help in all areas!  Please attend the Band Booster Meetings to find out how you can help.  You will be surprised how much fun it is to spend time with these great kids and other band parents.
 
 

WCHS Band Apparel

All Band members are required to have a Band Polo Shirt.  This will be our summer uniform for the football games during the warm weather.  These shirts can be ordered online.  Go to http://www.dixiesport.com/ and click on My Team Shop.  There you must enter the team access code of patrio9RW.   Cost of the polo is $28. If you did not order a band polo online, Mr. Everett did order extras.  Please see him ASAP.

All band members will also need to buy a band t-shirt.  These can be purchased for $8. These are worn under the traditional band uniforms and on band trips to identify our band members.




Scrip - An Exciting New Fundraiser!

Thanks to Sue Havlicek the WCHS Band is using a unique fundraiser that will
not cost you anymore than you would already spend at participating businesses.  All you have to do is plan ahead.  For example- if you shop weekly at Wal-mart, you would buy a Wal-mart gift card (from the band) for the amount you need.  The band will get a percentage of the sale and you spend what you would have spent there any way.  
Cards will be ordered in bulk on a regular basis throughout the year.  Check out www.glscrip.com for more information on this exciting program.  These gift cards are also great for Christmas, Birthdays, Weddings, Baby Showers...etc. Great Lakes Scrip Center has a huge list of merchants to choose from.
