Welcome to the first WCHS Band newsletter of the year. We
have put this one together quickly because there is much information for you.
Please look forward to a newsletter
each month. Remember, you can always access the band’s

for the most up-to-date information.
Please plan to attend the Band Booster meeting on Tuesday,
September 09, 2008 in the band room. Meetings will be held there the second
Tuesday of each month unless announced otherwise. We need the support of ALL
our parents. Let your son or daughter know how much being in band means by
coming out, helping out and enjoying band along with them. There will be many
areas where your services can be utilized. Come find out! You will be glad you
did!
The following will be part of the agenda at the upcoming
meeting:
From MR. EVERETT:
DUE September 1 was the first $200 (or fund-raising
profit).
The remainder is DUE October 1.
This includes students AND chaperones. PLEASE pay fees on
time. (Thank you!)
Also, we will need to know what band boosters will be going
on the trip with us.
Forms will be available for you to fill out at this meeting.
DISCOUNT CARDS: will be handed out to students, 10 at
a time, on Monday, Sept. 8. Money will be collected at the end of band practice
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a great way to build up a student’s
account and the cards are good for a full year, not just the school year.
There are lots of opportunities to serve such as
helping with sewing flags and costumes for the Guard, pit crew, chaperoning
trips, serving drinks after the band plays at halftime. Remember the Seafood
Festival is coming next month and we desperately need volunteers to man the
ticket booths. The band is paid a nice amount for our help.
Please don’t miss this meeting so you can sign up for a
short block of time.
EXCITING NEWS!! Mr. and Mrs. Andy Wright are
expecting their first baby- a boy!!

From STUDENT ACCOUNTS:
Student
account statements were sent home with your child on Wednesday. PLEASE check
with your child to make sure you get your copy. This statement should reflect
credits and payments made at the end of last year, as well as through band camp
this
year.
Please review the statement carefully for accuracy. If you have any questions
or notice anything missing, please contact me at ctccbc@earthlink.net. I will try my best
to get your question resolved. If your child is in Colorguard, payments made
directly to the Colorguard are not yet reflected in this statement, but will be
included in next month’s.
It is
always a good idea to write a check to pay for fees, fund-raising items,
supplies, etc. Just put your child’s name and what the money is for on the memo
line. Also, keep your receipts to match against statements (you’ll probably
have to remind your child to check the board in the band room and bring them
home!) Thank you for your patience as I try my best to learn everything there
is to know about WCHS Band Accounting 101.
