Movie Maker Staff Development Comments:

"It was great!! I took some of the still pictures I have of my students participating in the different activities throughout the semester and made a short movie of it. I am going to use it the first day of school to introduce the students to the class."
"Extremely cool! More stuff like that, the better off we are. It helps to keep our kid's attention and keeps us up to date also."
"Great!!! This is the stuff I'm talking about! This is what will get kids interested and will get us into the 21st century. Thanks for doing it."
"The program seems excellent and very user friendly. It will take some creativity to decide how to work into science classwork, but I can see how I might use it to pump up some presentations."
"It was good. The instructors taught the info in an easy to understand at all levels manner."

There are many uses for Movie Maker.

 1. Have "guest speakers" in your classes by interviewing your speaker the first time they come. Community members are more likely to come for 1 period & for 1 day rather than semester after semester, but your students can still get the benefits of different perspectives

2. Have the students create their own movies - examples: culminating activities for a class (an art show for example), presentations for students who are nervous about speaking in front of the class, but still must present their research, or how to present/how not to present examples for your students' projects

3. Record/take pictures of old projects/posters for assignments that you use every semester. This will clear out some of the clutter that we all have kept around for examples for future students.

4. Video part of your lecture and you can use it with your other classes instead of saying the same thing 3xs a day.

5. Down load part of your class so students can pull up the audio part and listen to it while they are walking or jogging. (A great memorization technique for court cases, amendments, English terms etc.)

6. Video a lab activity, down load it so students can watch and review at home throughout the semester.

7. Take your kids on virtual local field trips by making a movie of the location
