Homework Policy
(An excerpt from page 13 of 07-08 Student Handbook)
It is the firm belief of the West Carteret
High School Faculty and Administration that homework provides a necessary
foundation for continued progress with school lessons. We also believe homework
should be used to reinforce the concept or skill taught in class. Students must
complete homework to adequately prepare them for the next lesson. For this
reason, any student without his/her homework will be assigned to homework time
(a socially secluded lunch area where the student will work on his/her homework)
• Student will be assigned
one day of homework time for each occurrence of no homework.
• 1st and 2nd periods will
serve the day of no homework.
• 3rd and 4th periods will
serve the day following no homework.
• Student must report
directly to homework time (room #117) upon reporting to lunch.
• Students will be taken as
a group to the cafeteria to get lunch and return to homework time.
Consequences for not
serving with homework time:
• Student will be assigned
an extra day of homework time if he/she does not report.
• Students failing to serve
either of the two days will be assigned weekend homework time

an administrator or designee) |
