To search for Scholarships, there are a number of sources. You may try the colleges/universities to which you plan to apply. Contact either the financial aid/scholarship office or the admissions office.

You may also search the internet for scholarships for which you may apply. The following websites are quite useful.

CURRENT SCHOLARSHIPS:
 

 Seniors: If you still have an outstanding unmet financial need for college, after having received your FAFSA report back, and you have at least a 3.2 GPA, you should consider applying for a Sunshine Lady Scholarship. Call 393-7146 for an application. Deadline is July 1of each year.

Students - you could win a $1000 Scholarship by registering at www.CollegeAnswer.com/KFC , which is a service of SallieMae, Inc., the nation's leading provider of student loans and administrator of college savings plans. This service also allows you to search online for college and scholarship information.

Seniors - go to www.scholarships.com to find money for college. One of those scholarships is the Resolve to Evolve Essay Contest for which you could win $10,000 for college.

ROTC Scholarships: As summer approaches, so does the opportunity for next years' seniors to begin applying for ROTC scholarships. Juniors - if you plan to apply for a Navy ROTC Scholarship, go to the website www.nrotc.navy.mil. They are now accepting applications for the fall of 2009! This program is for any student that may be interested and meet the requirements. (DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN THE JROTC to apply)
(The same applies to other ROTC Scholarships, such as Army, Air Force, etc. You MUST begin the process soon!!)

BigSun Scholarship: The BigSun Organization is offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of the sport they participate in. Visit http://bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply. Essay is required. Amount of award - $500. Deadline - June 20.

ECU Interfraternity and Panhellenic Council Scholarships: Open to any incoming ECU freshman who has at least a 3.0 and extracurricular involvement while in high school. Amount is $500; candidates must apply online at www.ecu.edu/studentlife/greek  Males will navigate to the Interfraternity Scholarship; females to the Panhellenic Scholarship. Deadline is August 1.

AES Engineers offers a $500 scholarship to high school seniors who wish to pursue an engineering career. To apply, students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words in answer to one of the two questions that are posted on the site: http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.php  Amount of award: $500.00 Deadline for entry: September 15, 2008
