In accordance with state and local policies, school bus transportation is available to all eligible students who attend Carteret County Schools. Generally, buses travel on state or municipal maintained roads and serve students living at least one and a half miles or more from school. However, individual exceptions can be made based on student's age and safety factors.
For more information, contact the school or call the Carteret County Public School System's Transportation office, 252-728-4635.
The Carteret County Board of Education members are reviewing the possibility of adjusting the student attendance line between Croatan High School and West Carteret High School. This possibility would be to move the line west to the junction of Highway 24 and Hibbs Road effective June 12, 2017. This would also impact middle school students living in that area, moving them from Broad Creek Middle School to Newport Middle School. Two community meetings have taken place. Board members welcome comments about this possibility. Those comments may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The presentation explaining this possible attendance line change may be found below: Board members will again review this proposal at their December 6, 2016, meeting.
