In March
2001, Web Keepers began evolving in two phases.
Phase I focuses on the district web site; phase II
focuses on school web sites.
The primary objective of Phase I is to revamp the
district website—not just a reorganization of the present
content—but a complete systematic, organizational, and
aesthetic overhaul that encompasses future growth.
The primary
objective of Phase II is to create a “Web Keepers”
long-term professional growth study group—comprised of
members from all schools.
Web Keepers design and manage school web sites
that reflect current information in a consistent manner.
They also generated the Internet Safety Policy (a CIPA
requirement)
for the district.
The
momentum now (2002-2003) is shifting to Media
Center Web Keepers and Class Web Keepers.
