Community survey results

Community outreach strategies have taken place, although no formal plan has been drafted.  Parents and community members receive school surveys each year as part of the individual school SIPs.  Schools use the survey results to set goals and create strategies for improvement.  These surveys address school resources such as media and technology services.

Each school in Carteret County has a website which includes a wealth of information related to media and technology, such as a link to the media center catalog, links to research resources, remote folder access, acceptable use policies, etc.  In addition, the county school website provides information regarding media and technology services on a much broader scale.

School blogs continue to offer outreach opportunities to the community.

County-wide staff development opportunities such as "Through the Eyes of Our Students" (Oct. 8, 2007 and Feb. 18, 2007) include technology/media sessions which are conducted by the school system's media coordinators and instructional technology facilitators.
