There's no crystal ball.  But the signs are pointing to a research renaissance in high schools.  This will be driven by easy access to a world of information and the fact that digital technology enables us to do more with that information than ever before.  If that's not enough, we can toss into the mix  the culture of digital natives (our students), the increasing pressure of an international workforce on our economy, and North Carolina's push to institute Senior Projects beginning with the freshman class of 2006.

A grand project requires a grand template.

In an effort to keep us ahead of the curve, I will update this site with resources related to the Senior Project.  We have to view the Senior Project as an opportunity.  This culminating project, which will evolve for students over several years, can be a catalyst for deeper information and technology integration into the curriculum.  It will be the foothold of new literacy.  It will be the place where the true value of media coordinators and instructional technology facilitators as instructional partners will be realized.

As food for thought, check out this Information Code of Ethics for Students and Teachers developed by David Warlick.
