Moving it to the web.....

The Computer Utilization Survey points to Accelerated Reader (AR) as the number two classroom application of technology for students.  The data suggests that every week nearly 7500 AR quizzes are taken by our K-8 students.

As a result, our media coordinators are involved in a protracted study into the uses and possible misuses of AR.  The culmination of this study will be this website, a listing of best practice for AR, and the potential for much collaboration among media coordinators, school administrators, and faculty (English, especially) on the AR issue at the school level.

The timeline is as follows:

Mar 11: initial discussion moderated by Meg (CHS)

Apr 8:  summary of each school's implementation of AR (joined by directors of elementary and middle grades education

Apr 29: Meeting after the EOY meeting for all members of media and tech team.  Brainstorm concerns and best practices.

May 5-14: Review, edit, add, delete, etc. best practices and concerns.

May 14: Share work with administrators, teachers and wider audience
