Every day this week, we will report every instance of student computer usage in classrooms, computer labs, and in the Media Center. Here is some important information you need to know about this survey:

1) The purpose of the survey is to measure STUDENT computer usage, not teacher usage. Teachers will only
need to report on the online survey if students use a computer in their classroom that day (like AR testing).

2) If you take your students to the computer lab or to the Media Center to use computers then you will have
to report your activities on a sheet provided in those areas. The Media Center Coordinator and the
Techonology Facilitator will complete the online survey for Media Center and computer lab computer usage
using the information provided by teachers.

3) Some people are excluded from the survey: office staff, assistants, administrators, guidance counselors,
vocational (career & tech ed) teachers, and cafeteria personnel. Classroom teachers are also excluded in
the sense that teacher activities are not being reported on the survey.

4) Please do not forget to do this survey, even if you had just one student use a computer in your room. If
you do happen to forget one day, just log in the next morning and do it. Yes, this is allowed, not
recommended, but allowed.

5) Please do not shy away from using the computer labs or Media Center this week. The more we have to
report, the better.

6) For classroom reporting, you may want to keep a sign in sheet by your iMac (or other machines) to keep
track of students using them. That way you don't have to tally all day.

To log in to the online survey
1) Click on the link on the school's main web page.
2) Click on the "Click here to login" button at the bottom.
3) Your username is your first initial and your last name (Ex. John Doe's username = jdoe). The exception to
this is if your username is shared by someone else in the county. For example, Connie Boyd's username
cboyd is already used by someone else so her username is coboyd instead.
4) Your password is ...

Then just fill in the information. The survey is pretty self-explanatory.

Computer labs and Media Center
1) Just sign in on the sheet provided. We'll need your name, how many students you brought to the lab, and
the names of the programs your students used that day.
