    Goal 2:  Spatial Sense, Measurement and Geometry
        Objective 2.01:   Identify points, lines, and segments
        Objective 2.02:   Use pictorial representation and appropriate vocabulary.
        Objective 2.04:   Identify intersecting, parallel lines and segments.
Language Arts
        Objective 1.1:  Apply preparation strategies to comprehend or convey experiences and information.
        Objective 1.2:  Apply engagement strategies to comprehend or convey experiences and information.

Computer/Technology Skills
    Goal 2:  The learner will demonstrate knowledge and skills in using computer technology.
        Objective 2.2  Practice proper keyboarding techniques for upper and lower case letters.

        Objective 2.4  Edit word processing file to make indicated corrections.

    Students are able to identify, draw and state several geometric terms.


Materials

  • Math book and knowledge from previous Math lessons in the classroom
  • Computer
  • Desktop publishing software
  • Printer
Pre Activities

    The students have gone through the Geometry unit in the classroom, have had computer lessons on the drawing and
paint tools in AppleWorks and have gone over desktop publishing skills and its terms.

Activities

  1. Review desktop publishing terms: style, font, size, color, tools and skills used.
  2. Students choose a geometry term and shape.
  3. Students word process the the term, define it,  create the geometry shape on the computer a then included it with the definition.
  4. Students display their writings on the bulletin board.
