Introduction
Review/discuss with students
the sequence of events in Leo The Late Bloomer.
Beginning - Leo couldn't do
anything right.
Middle - Leo's father was
worried because he wasn't growing and he
watched Leo to see signs
of him growing.
Ending - Leo could read,
write, draw and eat neatly, finally. He had
made it!
Statement of Objective -
Today we are going to look at the beginning, middle, and
ending of Leo The Late Bloomer.
We have already made a flow map of the
order of this story.
Today we are going to use the computer to make a slide
show.
Teacher Input -
*Discuss/review physical
components of computer, fundamental
computer terms, and basic word
processing terms.
*Discuss ownership of
computer created work.
*Reread Leo The Late
Bloomer .
*Using ClarisWorks for Kids,
show/model for students creating a
slide show story with
beginning, middle, and ending of a story.
Guided/Independent Practice -
Students produce individual
sequential/linear story.
Closure -
*Show some individual student
products.
*Discuss other things this
program can be used with.
