Brief Description: Students will learn to navigate the North
Carolina Art Museum website and find answers to questions needed before we visit.
Approximate time required: 45 minutes
Standard Course of Study Goals and Objectives:
Technology Competencies
Goal 2: The learner will demonstrate knowledge and skills in the use of computer and other technologies.
Goal 3: The learner will use a variety of technologies to access,
analyze, interpret, synthesize, apply and communicate knowledge.
Visual Arts Competencies
Goal 4: The learner will choose and evaluate a range of subject matter and ideas to communicate intended meanings in artwork.
Goal 5: The learner will understand the visual arts in relation to history and cultures.
Goal 6: The learner will reflect upon and assess the characteristics and merits of their work and the work of others.
Goal 7: The learner will perceive connections between visual arts and other disciplines.
Goal 8: The learner will develop an awareness of art as an avocation
and profession.
Teacher's Lesson Goals/Objectives: The behavioral objective is that the students will be able to successfully complete the assigned worksheet with minimal problems and high accuracy......The student will learn to navigate the N.C. art museum web site with accuracy.
Materials/Resources Needed:
Internet,
worksheet,
ink pen,
calculator
Pre Activities:
Students are introduced to the web site and practice navigating the site.
Guided Practice:
1. Students will go to various places in the site to find answers to various questions on the
worksheet.
Independent Practice:
1. Students find and choose a workshop for children they would like to attend.
2. Students will choose reproduction prints they would like to purchase while visiting the museum.
Closure: I will ask students if they enjoyed their trip to the N.C. Art museum on-line and ask them to express ideas or concepts learned.
Project based assessment: Students are given a worksheet
with specific questions. They will
browse the site and find the answers to the questions. These questions are relevant and informative in planning a trip. Students should have the
worksheet completed at the end of the class. The worksheets will be graded and returned.
Assessment by Observation: I will be looking to see that each student is on the appropriate web site and that they are familiar enough with it to navigate it and find the answers to the questions on the
worksheet.
