Mrs. Tara Patterson

 Assistant Principal

Tara Patterson was born and raised in rural Caswell County, North Carolina. After graduating from Bartlett Yancey High School in 1996, Mrs. Patterson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English/Language Arts from Elon University in 2000. Mrs. Patterson taught 3^rd grade for one year at South Graham Elementary School in Alamance County. In 2001, Mrs. Patterson relocated to Carteret County as an elementary school teacher at Newport Elementary School. After receiving the North Carolina Principal Fellows scholarship in 2006, Mrs. Patterson began working on her Master’s Degree in School Administration at East Carolina University. In 2007, Mrs. Patterson was named as the Assistant Principal intern of Beaufort Middle School and Smyrna Elementary School. Mrs. Patterson resides in Cape Carteret with her husband.
