Data Analysis

The first question we had to address, was as follows, was there a difference in the number of  fish caught in MCO (Midden's Creek open) and MCC (Midden's Creek closed) in the past two years.  The total number of fish caught in MCC was 1525.  The null hypothesis would say there is no statistical difference in these numbers.  After applying the T test we could statistically reject the null and say that more fish were caught in MCC during the last two years.

The second question we addressed, as follows is were more fish caught in Sleepy Creek (closed) and Straits (open) during the past two years.  The total number of fish caught in Sleepy Creek was 1,708.  The total number of fish caught in Straits was 249.  Once the null hypothesis said that there was no difference in the fish caught.  So we rejected the null hypothesis.
