Middens Creek Summer Chemical Data
Data Analysis Our group was responsible for analyzing Middens Creek chemical (MCC) data. Out first question was "Is there difference in salinity in MCC in summer or fall?" We used a t-test to analyze the data. There is a difference in salinity in MCC summer and fall. The average salinity in the summer was 34.5 ppt. The average in the fall was 23.4 ppt. We rejected the Null hypothesis. There was a difference. Our second question was "Is there a difference in salinity in MCO in summer and fall ?" There is no difference in MCO in summer and fall. Average salinity in summer was 34.04ppt. Average salinity in fall was 20.54 ppt. We accepted the Null hypothesis. There was no difference. Our data indicates that in the closed area there was a significant difference in the salinity. This may have been caused by the large amount of rain that fell just before we sampled. This may have affected the catch.
