Enrichment Team
2ND Quarter

Enrichment classes follow an odd-even schedule.  This allows students to be actively engaged in physical education throughout the school year rather than only one semester.  Students will have all enrichment classes throughout the year as well.  Students taking band will still have band everyday.  All other classes will meet on an odd-even schedule.  If it is an odd day of the month the student will attend the odd classes.  On even calendar days, the student will attend the even assigned classes.

Week of October 29th:

We will complete a few activities designed to make you think ahead about what you want to do and be in life.  We will also be completing a series of questions that make up a personal inventory.  Each student will be given their results individually.  Please look for and return the permission slip to watch the movie "Rudy" next week.
Week of November 5th:
We will watching the movie "Rudy".  This is a wonderful movie representing what anyone can accomplish when they set goals and work towards them.  They will complete their own goal ladders this week.  I will be sending home a permission slip for the movie.  Please sign and return this before this week!
Week of November 12th:
Complete questions pertaining to the movie "Rudy" and the main characters goals and his success in pursuing his dream.
Week of November 19th:
We will complete a few Thanksgiving related activities in this short week!  Don't forget early release on Wednesday!
Week of November 26th:
The impact of the holiday season on the Agricultural Industry- Christmas Trees, Poinsettias, etc.
Week of December 3rd:
In depth look at Poinsettias and other holiday related plants.   Progress Reports go home this week.  Please make sure to look them over and sign and return them to me!
Week of December 10th:
Holiday crafts from natural products- pine cone wreaths, grape vine wreaths.  If you have any pine cones or grape vine you can bring in, that would be great!

Students will continue to study Set 1 of the Tools; Wrenches & Drivers.  They will be put into groups and allowed to practice the identification in the shop.  The actual ID Quizzes will be Thursday and Friday.  They have a yellow North Carolina FFA Tool Manual they can use to study at home.
Week of November 5th:
This week they will take the Proper Use Quiz for Set 1 of the tools; Wrenches & Drivers.  They will complete the definitions for and be introduced to Set 2 of the Tools; Woodworking Tools A.
Week of November 12th:
Students will complete the Identification Quiz for Set 2, as well as study for and complete the Proper Use Quiz for Set 2.  They will also be responsible for writing out the proper uses for Set 3; Woodworking B.
Week of November 19th:
In this short week, students will complete a crossword puzzle using the tools and proper uses they have learned.
Week of November 26th:
Study and test on al 60 tools.  ID Quiz Wednesday and Thursday.  Use Quiz Friday and Monday!
