In March 2006, Ms. Sutton traveled with a group of SCUBA diving explorers to a group of islands known collectively as the Federated States of Micronesia. Her journey took her to the islands of Guam, Palau, and Chuuk where she dove among the most beautiful coral reefs in the world and experienced World War II history from 100 feet below the surface of these pristine tropical waters. Ms. Sutton shared her experiences with her students at Newport Middle School through her daily journal log and photo gallery. Ms. Sutton also designed and organized classroom and Internet activities which assisted her students in learning more about the history, culture, and environment of this region during her visit. |
