Week of January 5th:
Welcome Back!

Begin to discuss what happened after the American Revolution. Start to talk about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Students will begin to see how our country was formed.

Chapter 4: An Era of Revolution (Leading to Revolution, American revolution Begins, Declaring Independence, Victory and Independence,  A New Government)

Skills: Interpreting Maps, Co-Op Learning, Map Skills, Reading, Public Speaking, Writing Skills, Organization Skills, Research Skills, and Making Conclusions

Week of January 12th:

Students will explore what life was like in North Carolina after the American Revolution. Classes will discuss the Industrial Revolution and see what impacts it had on North Carolina as well as the rest of the country.

Chapter 5: Life in the New State (Slavery, Struggles, a Divided State, a Dividing Nation)

Skills: Interpreting Maps, Co-Op Learning, Map Skills, Reading, Public Speaking, Writing Skills, Organization Skills, Research Skills, and Making Conclusions
