Welcome to the Newport Middle School Life Skills page! This page is intended for you to check on updates as to what topics your child will be covering during the year. The Family and Consumer Sciences course, also known as the Life Skills class, covers many various units. Different topics are covered for each grade level so you can enjoy being enrolled in this class throughout your middle school career! Some of the topics include Managing Your Life, Conflict Resolution, Coping with Stress, Positive Self-Concept, Community and Environment, Respect, Goals, General First Aid, Manners/Etiquette, Nutrition, Budgeting, Checks and Balances, Kitchen and Food Safety, Sewing Tools and much more! FCCLA may be the club you have been looking for ! FCCLA stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
