GRADING

NOTICE:   If your child was in school, he/she is responsible for the assignment given in class. I will do my best to keep this website correct and updated daily. However, occasional circumstances prevent the accuracy of this site.

50% Homework/Classwork

50% Tests/Quizzes

HOMEWORK

Homework is expected to be completed the evening of the day that it is given, it may be a continuation of class work.  I give students the opportunity to practice math in class, where I am available to assist, as well as at home.

Missing homework:  if homework is not ready in class when it is due, it is considered missing, and a grade of 0 is received.  Students have 3 days to make up missing homework.  Students will receive 80% of their graded work.  example:  graded work is a 100, if its late it will be an 80 in the grade book.(100X80%).   If  you are missing work on a regular basis, you will have working lunch and/or parent conference.

Missing homework due to absence:  when students are missing homework due to absence, they have 3 days to make up work without any grade penalty.  After that, it is considered late for 3 days.

Extra Credit

students may ask for extra credit work when they are not satisfied with an assignment/test/quiz or class work grade.  The assignment will be related to their work.  They will receive extra points based on the grade of their extra credit.  Extra credit will not be accepted after the 8th week of a 9 week grading period.  Specific cut-off dates will be announced.
