Monday, August 25, 2008:  Welcome back to school!!

 **Homework**   Review Handbook and get Agenda signed

Tuesday, August 26, 2008:  We will begin our year by reviewing basic skills.  Today we will discuss ourselves and habits of our minds as learned last year.  Students will get oriented to classroom procedures including "History Fact a Day to Edit" and "Journals".  Students will be assigned textbooks today and should have them covered by next Tuesday.

 **Homework**  Journal Art due Friday, 8/29

Wednesday, August 27, 2008:  Today we will review the "5 Themes of Geography".  For today's journal, students will be asked to list the 5 themes and provide a brief explanation.

**Homework**  Read Text viii-ix and work on Journal Art

 Thursday, August 28, 2008:  Today's lesson will focus on the significance of understanding geography as it relates to everyday life.  Our lesson is titled "The World in a Chocolate Bar."  While there will be no Journal today, students will have one question from the discussion to answer for homework.

** Homework** Chocolate Question; Journal Art is due tomorrow

 Friday, August 29, 2008 :  Homework question and Journal Art will be checked today.  For today's journal, students will create a timeline of big events that have happened in their lives.  As a class, we will continue our review of geography with the Discovery Atlas in the textbook on pages 2-7.

  **Homework** Get textbook covered by Tuesday.
