Digital Camera

The Digital Camera was used to take pictures of my students learning Chinese Calligraphy.  The Olympus Stylus 800 has 13 camera settings ranging from portrait to shooting constantly moving subjects in succession.  Settings used most frequently at my school include:

For this presentation, the Portrait and Landscape setting was used.  Pictures were taken of my students as they practiced traditional brush painting techniques.

Pictures can be exported from the camera by two different methods.  One method is to install the software that came with the camera and then plug the camera into a USB port on the computer using the cable that came with the camera.  Using this method the camera pops up as a device with removable storage in My Computer.   To export the pictures I double clicked on the camera and opened the DCIM folder and copied and pasted the pictures to a folder on my hard drive.   Another method is to remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into a card reader.  From My Computer locate the card under devices with removable storage and open the card and copy and paste the pictures from the disk to a folder on your hard drive.

To import the pictures into presentation software for presenting use the software's import utility and navigate to the folder on your hard drive where the pictures are stored.
