Duke Youth Programs is part of Duke University Continuing Studies and has provided summer academic enrichment for academically motivated youth for over 20 years. Each summer approximately 650 youth from around the nation, representing some 22 states and 5 different countries attend one of our summer programs. All programs seek to engage learners in innovative, interactive, transformative learning experiences. Co-curricular social and recreational activities are planned and delivered to complement the instructional day. The camp “learning community” approaches learning as a shared responsibility among students, instructors, and counselors.

Summer Program at the North Carolina school of the Arts is an exciting living and learning experience – 2 to 5 weeks spent away from home, surrounded by fellow artists of diverse ages and backgrounds. Daily classes, workshops and rehearsals are enhanced by a comprehensive schedule of extracurricular activities. For residential students, living among peers further enriches the experience. Camp Broadstone is Appalachian State University’s year round outdoor adventure and retreat center with a summer camp for academically gifted youth. Its 55 acres of woods and meadows are located in the small community of Valle Crucis, in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
