Contour Drawing
Practice this at home! Students learn contour drawing by drawing model cars and trucks, small toys and stuffed animals. Get a pencil and paper, fasten your eyes on the contour (edge) of the shape. You can draw anything, a toy car, your other hand, a doll, some fruit, a friend or relative, or whatever is is front of you at the time. As your eye travels slowly along the edges of the shape, get your hand holding the pencil to follow the path that your eye travels. Get a sketchbook or just some paper and a board. If you practice this for just 5 minutes every day, you will become good at drawing and improve your eye-hand coordination. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mark and Jessica have set the toys up on a turned over basket so they have a better view of them. Jessica's picture of the cat on the trash can has very bright smooth color because she was careful and pressed hard with the colored pencil. She also added some 'trash' from her imagination.
