Every year the All-County Student Art Show is held in the Spring.  The show is held  in a rented public space in Morehead City. All high schools, middle schools and elementary schools participate.  In 2008 about 112 pictures by Newport Elementary students were included. There was an opening party with refreshments and an awards ceremony. This is a fun event that all are welcome to attend. The show stays open for about 10 days after that to allow everyone to get there and see the wonderful range of imaginative art that Carteret County students from Kindergarten through 12th grade make. 

Any students can have pictures in the art show.  Fifth graders are favored as are really great pictures.  It should be a project the student  has done in school. Make sure your name and teacher's name are on the picture. Bring your best picture to Ms. Fiske in January or early February so it can be entered in the show.  A few winners will be selected but the main thing is the exhibition, not the winning.

Pictures by N.E.S. students were exhibited at the SECU bank during the month of January.

Students may participate in the Children's Art and Photography Show at the History Place in April.. This can be a school project or something they make elsewhere. The application form will be available on this web site closer to the time of the exhibition.
