Launching Rockets

The NC STARBASE program was at Newport Elementary School during the week of October 15 - 19.  Lessons were based on 5th grade objectives and explored aerodynamics through Newton's laws of Motion, the Four Forces of Flight, Bernoulli's Principle, Model rocketry, Properties of Air and much more.  During this time students also worked on positive personal goal setting and teamwork skills.  The week culminated in building and launching a rocket along with graduation ceremonies.  Assessments were taken using interactive computer software.  It was an exciting and busy week for everyone.
