Project Sponsor

The project sponsor is the guiding force behind the deployment of the NC WISE Solution. This is the project champion who sets the tone and expectations for the changes that must occur when the legacy student information system is retired and the NC WISE solution is introduced. Active participation is a requirement for this role. The individual fulfilling this role must display a strong commitment to the process.

This group is an LEA level NC WISE oversight committee appointed by the project sponsor.  This group communicates decisions affecting the business, functional or technical deployment of NC WISE.  This group also is responsible for identifying, reviewing and approving significant operational changes.

This role is responsible for the network and desktop hardware and software environments that support the central office and the schools throughout the system.
NC WISE LEA Project  Manager/ Coordinator

The Project Manager manages the daily planning and deployment tasks that get the NC WISE solution implemented in the LEA. The individual in this role is required to possess both technical and management skills plus multi-year experience in North Carolina student accounting requirements and student information systems in general

The NC WISE LEA Coordinator plays a central role in the deployment and operation of NC WISE at a LEA.  This individual works with the LEA Project Manager to coordinate all phases of the LEA’s activities around the NC WISE deployment timeline.  This individual is the primary point of contact between the LEA and the schools and must become fully knowledgeable of the NC WISE solution and an advocate of the LEA NC WISE end user community.  The coordinator plays a vital role in communicating any school concerns to the LEA Project Manager.

LEA Security Administrator

This person provides the highest level of NC WISE administrative security. This role is given access and training to web enabled NC WISE security applications which allow local management of security accounts enabling him or her to train others in its use.  This individual is the primary contact point for all matters related to LEA functional security and works with the NC WISE Security Administrator.

The LEA Trainers are responsible for the face-to-face delivery of NC WISE instruction to all school and central office personnel within their LEA.  The local trainers are trained through NCDPI sponsored "train-the-trainer" sessions. LEA trainers are expected to become knowledgeable in eSIS, Uniform Education Reporting System (UERS) process, Standardized Test Upload, Security Administration and the Reporting Hub interface. As new functionality is brought into the application, this content will expand.

This role is the liaison between the school administration and the LEA NC WISE Coordinator. An ability to share information with others and some leadership skills are needed as this role is a focal point for the start up of NC WISE at the school level. An attention to detail and knowledge of student accounting and school business are required.
LEA Support Staff

The NC WISE LEA Support Staff plays a central role in the post-deployment phase of the NC WISE implementation. This person must become fully knowledgeable of the NC WISE solution and will provide the first level of end-user support to the LEA/school users in all components of the NC WISE solution.
