Parents,
          It has been my very distinct honor and pleasure to serve as Principal of Morehead Elementary School at Camp Glenn since July 1, 2007. I have had many good years in education as teacher, media specialist, technology coordinator, and administrator. But without a doubt, Morehead Elementary School has the most caring and hardworking staff of any with whom I have been associated. Our students are generally focused and well-behaved and have parents who care deeply that their children have the very best of educational opportunities.

            As principal I have several goals for our school, for our teachers, and for our children that are based on the personal belief statements listed below. Those immediate goals are:

1.      To provide all of the resources that students and teachers need in their classrooms to be successful;

2.      To teach good character, particularly kindness, caring, and respect for others, through example set by our staff and myself;

3.      To ensure a safe, caring, and orderly environment in our school;

4.      To maintain an open door to students, parents, staff, and community members, always ready to answer questions and address concerns;

5.      To address any changes which will make our school a better place in which to learn and grow;

6.      To support the passion of every child to learn and of every teacher to teach and to strive for the best for our students.

We face many challenges over the coming years. Maintaining high scores on end-of-grade testing has been difficult this past year, but students, teachers, and staff are working hard to do better. But rest assured that we will continue to encourage and to teach our students to be the very best that they can be. The lives of all children are previous and are valued at Morehead Elementary School.
