Life cycles will be our focus this month! We will be learning about the life cycle of spiders, bats, and owls! We will begin the month learning about spiders. We will learn about and hunt for different types of webs, label the parts of a spider, compare and contrast spiders with insects, and make giant egg sacs. Then we’ll move on to learning about bats. Owls will be next! We will have “owl opportunities” which will allow the children to read about, write about, listen to stories about, and to create owls. The Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter will visit our 2nd graders and bring real owls! We will also dissect real owl pellets.
