Homework

All homework can be found on the corresponding week in your child's planner. Usually any extra activities for the week can be found there also.

Spelling-Word lists are sent home weekly in student's planner.  Students are given a pre-test each week. Words to study are highlighted in yellow. If a word is not highlighted your child spelled it correctly on the pretest. Students need to choose 3 activities from the Tic Tac Toe activity sheet found in the back of their planner for homework. Use the highlighted words for these activities. Tic Tac Toe activity sheets will be changed at the end of each grading period. Students may also do Spelling City activities for homework. Be sure to print out and send in the activity. Spelling homework is due on Thursday. Be ready for the test on Friday.

Math-Pages assigned in the math book are written in the planner each week. Math books are sent home on Monday. Math homework is also due on Thursday.

AR-The number of tests required for your child is written in the planner weekly. Students should take the tests by 11:00  on Friday to receive credit for the week. They must make 80 or above. AR rules are listed below.

Reading-Read nightly 15 minutes-record books in planner.

Accelerated Reader Rules

1. Students must pass Level 11-12 on the reading assessment before using  the AR program.

2. Students may use their book to make sure they are taking the correct test by checking for the correct author and title.

3. Students may not use their books to answer questions. This is a comprehension test.

4. It is acceptable for teachers to answer questions regarding vocabulary.

5. Parents may not assist their children in answering questions. This is an independent testing situation.
