The PBIS Team has set the following goals for the 2010-20110 school year:
1. Continue PBIS practices instituted in previous school years (i.e. STARS expectations, expected bus behavior, use of common vocabulary, STARS Behavior Rewards/Celebrations, etc.)
2. Utilizing parent survey data from last school year, investigate ways to celebrate ALL students who are "STARS". (Suggestion: Include names of "Classroom Students of the Week" in our PTO parent quarterly newsletter.)
3. Maintain our Check-In/Check-Out Program for a small number of students who will benefit from a one-on-one mentor.
4. Examine innovative Bus Incentive Programs as a way to instill student pride in "teamwork" and encourage safe bus behavior. (Safety is our #1 priority!)
5. Reevaluate Bounce Tasks (Apology letters/Letters of reflection versus current "Task Sheets".)
6. Incorporate STARS into the First Quarter conferences with parents. Make parents more aware of PBIS expectations. Encourage grade levels to arrange grade level information nights with parents.
7. More carefully scrutinize all PBIS Parent Information that is sent home. (How often do we send information home? How detailed is the information? etc.)
8. Further develpoment of second steps with training in addressing bullying.
