Did you know that Port Happy is an historic site? It used to be called Camp Happy. It was an army camp. The soldiers use to patrol the shores and watch for enemies coming ashore during World War II. There are still pathways all over Port Happy. Port Happy is on Core Sound and you can see the ocean from there too. The Fulcher family bought that land years ago and built a house on it. Mrs. Iris Fulcher changed the name from Camp Happy to Port Happy.
