~ Our students covered the
following information, skills and topics during the (shortened) weeks of August
30th and September 7th…
·
6th grade
students worked with comparing and ordering decimals, multiplying and dividing
decimals, and problem solving
·
7th grade
students worked with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing positive and
negative numbers, and problem solving
·
Algebra students
worked with open sentence equations, the identity, equality, distributive,
commutative and associative properties, and logical reasoning
·
Geometry students
worked with the distance formula, the angle addition postulate, midpoint, and
bisectors
·
All
middle school students:
-reviewed the note-taking strategy Cornell Notes and the pre-reading strategy
THIEVES
-worked with a Thesaurus
-contributed a personal event to a summer
timeline
-interviewed a grandparent (or parent) and
-contributed several events to a Venn
Diagram comparing the life of today’s teenager with the life of a teenager
in their grandparents’ time
-had a retired ECHS teacher read the short story
A Sound of Thunder aloud
-began state PE testing
-did groupwork with the understanding of cause and effect
-have an AR book and should be able to read 1 hour daily!!!
-Every student was given their access code for online grades today!!!

Our DE football team
and Cheerleaders had their first game and played into overtime.

Our DE girls’ soccer
team won 1 game and lost 1 game this week
