                                 Only 11 Days Till Christmas!!

Here it is…our final Newsletter for 2004. A lot has been going on here at school.  Of course, we are all counting down the days until Christmas break…and Christmas day.  The children are so excited…then again I think all of the adults are too.

I hope everyone enjoyed our Disney on Ice trip.  I was very impressed with our students’ behavior…they were great on the bus and at the show!

A big thank you to everyone who donated to Toys for Tots during the Down East Parade.  Our boat was full of wonderful gifts!

This week marks the end of the first half of our school year (believe it or not).  When we return after Christmas break, I will be holding parent conferences to share with you your child’s progress report.  This will be a very important meeting as we will not only discuss what your child has learned but make plans on what we need to focus on during the rest of the year!

Friday is an early release day so school will dismiss at 12:00.  It will be a hectic day…we will have a school assembly at 9:30 and then our class party when we return to the room.  Miss Vanessa and Miss Deena sent letters home last week concerning our party.  Parents who wish to set up for our party may come in a little early…and please don’t forget that we will need parents to help clean up after the party (wipe tables, take out trash, vacuum etc.)!

Student presents should be brought to school on Thursday (if possible).  This way we can be sure that everyone will have a gift to open on Friday!

Just a reminder that students who arrive before the 8:00 bell should go to the cafeteria.  Many kindergarteners are coming to the room before the bell…this is not a problem as long as there is a teacher in the room.  If there is not a teacher in the room…please take your child to the cafeteria or wait in the room with your child until Miss Eugenia or Miss Renee arrives!

Letter/sight word rings have been removed.  We will begin adding new letters/words after the holiday.  There are take home readers in folders tonight…let’s try to get a few more nights of reading in before breakJ

Lunch Accounts…

Please make sure your child has enough lunch money to take him/her through Friday.  If your child owes lunch money…Miss Minetta needs this in by Thursday!!

Speaking of lunch…we had a big discussion with the students today.  Many students are getting lunch and eating very little or buying extras just to throw them in the trash.  We discussed that this is wasting food and money!

Check out our website…I’m adding new items/pictures daily…hopefully I will have it caught up by Friday!

Christmas Break begins at 12:00 on December 17th.  School resumes Wednesday, January 5, 2005!

We hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday season…

See you in 2005!
