Well, here it is...our last week before Christmas break!  Our trip to see Disney on Ice has come and gone.  I hope everyone enjoyed the show as much as I did.  Just seeing the expressions on the children's faces made all the hassles of the trip worthwhile!  I will get some pictures from our trip online as soon as I can.

Today was a very busy day...therefore I did not have time to get our weekly newsletter typed...maybe tomorrow.  Until then...you may wish to take a look at our December Photo page.  I've updated it with our Letters to Santa and some other projects we have completed this month!

Only 16 days till Christmas!
Our tree is finally up in our classroom.  We still have a bit of decorating to do, but hopefully it will be completed by Monday.  A big thank you to Miss Laura and Miss Shelli who sent in some ornaments for us to make.

This week we have been busy with many activities.  On Tuesday we wrote letters to Santa.  I hope to add some of these to our site next week (and maybe see about getting them published in the News Times).

We completed another writing activity as a follow up to a book we read...Santa's New Suit.  In this story Santa was tired of his traditional red suit and wanted a new style.  The result was quite funny!  After reading the story the children created their own suit for Santa.  We had everything from a rainbow suit to suits with stripes and polka dots.

We've also worked on our big bulletin board.  We now have a big Christmas tree with lots of special ornaments.  Since we have been learning about our shapes, I thought it would interesting if we created ornaments from our basic shapes.  Next week we will tally the number of each shape and create a graph to add to our bulletin board.  I will add a picture to our December photos page when we have finished our board!

Finally, below you will find a link to a Christmas site you might wish to visit with your child.  I haven't viewed everything on the site but did find quite a few interesting activities, including a Santa Tracker:)

So sorry for the delay in updating our page.  We've taken lots of pictures but with decoy, our schedule has been all messed up and I just haven't had the time to add anything new to our site.  Thank goodness the Pepsi coolers are now out of our room and Miss Eugenia is back with us, so hopefully we will be back on schedule for awhile!

Even with decoy however... the kids have  still been very busy with lots of Christmas activities.  We are very proud of our December quilt that is hanging on our outside bulletin board!

Isn't it beautiful?
I am really going to hate taking it apart.  This quilt idea came from the KinderKorner website...I find many of my art ideas here!

To see some close up pictures of our quilt as well as other pictures of our many Christmas activities, be sure to check out our Photo Gallery.
