Twenty Little Indians

One of the fun projects we participate in here in kindergarten is dyeing and decorating Indian vests.

Our vests started out as a plain white pillowcase!  

But then we put them in a big pot of brown dye.

Then we hung our cases on the bushes outside so they could dry.

After they were good and dry, we cut them to make a vest that we could wear.  Then we got to decorate them.  This was the fun part.  A few parents came out to help. 

We painted pictures of them of our Indian names and glued on lots of pretty beads. 

We had a fun time decorating our vests...they looked great!
