  School Health Services      

          Carteret County School Nurses provide many services behind the scenes as   well as those seen by the public.

Health Education Classes are presented with cooperation of the classroom teachers in the elementary schools. Lessons in Sun Protection, Poison Recognition, Bicycle Helmet Safety and Good Hand Washing are a sample of the classes taught.

Health record keeping, immunization checks, staff education, emergency planning procedures, and health screenings are important as well as medical attention to the students. Staff immunizations, wellness education, health maintenance, foster grandparent assistance, and school safety are included in the part of a day.

Educational Instruction is provided by Dr. Nutz for First Responders in every school in Epi-pen Administration for generalized Emergencies
