      Our Mission

                  The purpose of School Nursing is to enhance the educational process by maximizing  the health and well-being of school age children and adolescents physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually. The School Nurse accomplishes this through the promotion of an optimal level of wellness. 

     Role of the School Nurse:

1. Promotes direct health care to students and staff
2. Provides leadership for province of health services
3. Provides screening and referral
4. Promotes healthy school environment
5. Promotes health
6. Serves in leadership role for health policies/programs
7. Liaison among schools personnel, family, community, and health care providers (NASN issue brief,2002)
