Beaufort Middle – The HVAC renovation project work was recently bid.
The bids came in under budget. Broad Creek Middle – The HVAC project was recently bid. Croatan High Auditorium – The design of a 700-seat auditorium is progressing and is compliance with the time management plan presented to the Board last month. Mr. Maready said the final decision on the number of seats for the auditorium must be made no later than November 6, 2007. He expects to have some designs ready for review within the next three weeks. East Carteret High – Contracts for phase 2 window replacement have been received and work on the site should begin within 60 days. The roof replacement project will be bid October 2, 2007, and, if the bids are acceptable, work could start immediately. The contractor mobilized August 24 and compaction dirt is being moved and footings could be put into place within the next two weeks. Harkers Island Elementary – The HVAC project is progressing and will continue through August 2008. The workers did meet the goal for summer work. Morehead City Elementary – The HVAC project is complete with the exception of closeout documents and final payment. Contracts are in hand for the window replacement project and work on site should begin within 60 days. Morehead City Middle – Defining the scope of work for the window replacement project is completed and bids have been solicited. A bid date has not been set. Morehead City Primary – The toilet partition replacement is complete and the final invoice is in hand. Newport Elementary – The HVAC renovation project and new construction project are progressing well with completion scheduled for both projects in August 2008. He noted the footings are 90 percent complete and the foundation is in. Mr. Maready said the first floor slab pour could take place within the next two weeks. Smyrna Elementary – Contracts are in hand for the window replacement project and work on site should begin within 60 days. The HVAC project is progressing well and the summer work goal was accomplished. White Oak Elementary – Toilet partition installation is complete and the final invoice is in hand. The HVAC renovation project is in process and will be completed in August 2008. The contractor for the new construction project has mobilized and should begin early work within two weeks. The completed permits should be in hand by September 21, 2007.
Transportation – The contractor has been mobilized, a
pre-construction meeting has taken place and the pre-engineered building
arrived September 4, 2007. |
