Bids have been received for the first of three window replacement projects at East Carteret High School. Bond Project Manager Keith Maready reports the bids are within budget. Mr. Maready said the window replacement work at the high school would be divided into three phases. The first phase will include the non-classroom areas to minimize the disruption. Roof
replacement work is in progress at Beaufort Middle School and Broad
Creek Middle School. The projects are going well, and the completion of
Beaufort Middle is expected in late February 2007 and the completion of
Broad Creek Middle in late April 2007. The
design of the roof replacement at East Carteret High School and Harkers
Island Elementary School will be complete by late 2006. The bidding and
work will be correlated with planned HVAC renovations at each location. Design is nearing completion for the new construction projects at Bogue Sound Elementary School, East Carteret High School, Newport Elementary School and White Oak Elementary School. Mr. Maready set the following timelines for that new construction: Bogue Sound Elementary new six-classroom addition: bid in mid-December 2006, start construction in early February 2007 and complete in early August 2007; East
Carteret High new classroom building:
bid in February 2007, start construction in March 2007 and
complete in February 2008; White
Oak Elementary new classroom building:
bid in April 2007, start construction in May 2007 and complete in
March 2008. |
