Child Nutrition / Cafeterias

Monthly Breakfast & Lunch Menus

We are excited about the 2019-2020 school year and look forward to seeing your student at our table,
so we can refill their tanks with school fuel!

Carteret County Child Nutrition participates in the National School Lunch Program.  It is the second largest supplemental nutrition program in the nation and is federally funded.  We also participate in the School Breakfast Program, After School Snack Program, After School Meal Program, Summer Food Service Program, and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.

We provide a balanced diet, following USDA dietary guidelines for Americans.  Child nutrition incorporates fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat and low sodium proteins, low-fat and fat-free milk.  Nutrition is a big part of education because we know hungry students cannot focus and learn.

With nutrition being at the heart of what we do, we hope you will encourage your student to have breakfast and lunch with us daily.  We appreciate the support as we work hard to nourish students and prepare them to learn and grow.

Elementary and Middle schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Program for the 2019-2020 school year.  All elementary and middle school students will receive breakfast and lunch at no charge and a meal benefit application (free and reduced) is not required.

High schools will continue with free, reduce, and paid meals.  Meal benefit applications can be found at Lunch Application or a paper copy is available at the high school offices.
