AP Language and Composition Summer Reading Assignment

There is no required summer reading assignment for AP Language and Composition or its fall semester prerequisite course.   However, I highly recommend that you prepare yourself for the course by getting into the habit of reading well-written nonfiction texts and familiarizing yourself with current events.  One of the best ways to do so is by frequently reading a renowned newspaper such as The New York Times or Washington Post.  Both are available free online.  Make one of them your homepage; read an article everyday.   Don't limit yourself to the headlines: explore articles on travel, fashion, sports, science, and technology.  To start you off, here's an article titled "How to Raise Our I.Q." that you may find interesting.  Enjoy!
