Text Box: Honors English III—Course Overview     This course focuses on American Literature with an emphasis on analysis of historical literature and young adult literature.  There will be weekly exercises and quizzes in vocabulary from the Vocabulary Workshop that will be issued in class.  Elements of Literature and Elements of Language are the literature and grammar texts for this course.  This course is writing intensive and is accentuated by the NC Tenth Grade Writing Test that will be administered in early March.  Come to class prepared to learn about the literature of our nation!! Required supplemental literature will be assigned from the following list throughout the semester:    The Crucible, The Scarlet Letter, Ethan Frome, The Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, Twelve Angry Men, Our Town,  and/or A Raisin in the Sun
