OYSTER DISSECTION DAY!
Marine Science students dissected live oysters with the help of Mrs. Moore and the environmental educator with North Carolina Coastal Federation, Sarah Phillips.

(Above) What the octopus looked like while hiding in the water (Bogue Sound) under the dock.
.....And no, we did not kill the octopus! It died there and the waterfront homeowner retrieved then donated the specimen to the Marine Science class for study.

The octopus measured 4 feet from tip of tentacle to tip.
